BetterCloud is now the leading SaaS Operations Management platform! This means that you can now integrate multiple apps into your BetterCloud workspace, and use our tools to seamlessly manage users and data across your organization.

This article will detail the sections and tools in BetterCloud where you can find integrated Okta functionality.

Integrating Okta with BetterCloud

Before any functionality will be available for an app in BetterCloud, the app must first be connected and verified. You can find instructions for adding the Okta integration by clicking here.

Okta as an IdP

Okta is another identity provider that you can register for BetterCloud with. You can find instructions for registering by clicking here.

From then on, you can log in using your Okta credentials.

The BetterCloud OIDC Client In Okta

When adding the BetterCloud application in Okta, a separate application is also created called BetterCloud OIDC Client. OIDC stands for OpenID Connect and it provides authentication by introducing a new token, the ID token, which contains a new set of scopes and claims specifically for identity. The assignment of this client to a user allows them to use Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality.

The creation of the BetterCloud OIDC Client is automatic upon the installation of the BetterCloud application, and the OIDC client will be automatically assigned to the user who integrated Okta with BetterCloud, but other users must be manually assigned access to the client in order to use Okta SSO for BetterCloud login.

For more information, see Okta's What is OpenID Connect?
