When integrating a new application with your BetterCloud instance, the overall installation process is consistent. However, each integration is different, and may require varying levels and types of authentication. This article provides instructions for configuring and collecting all the information you need in order to add the Trello integration in BetterCloud.
BetterCloud requires you to enter the following information when integrating with Trello:
Please Note the following important requirements:
- Only Trello Business Class or Enterprise accounts may generate an API token and add the integration. You can read more on the differences between Trello subscriptions in their documentation.
- In order to take action using the Trello integration, the connecting account must be an Admin in Trello.
API Key and Token
To get started on the process of collecting your API key and token, first login to Trello with the Admin account you will be using to connect. Once you have logged in, navigate to https://trello.com/app-key.
Your API Key will be presented on that page under "Developer API Keys".
Copy and paste this value into the trelloApiKey field in the integration's environment variables.
Below the key, there is a link to generate a token. Follow this link to authorize your account.
You will be prompted to accept scopes. Scroll down and click "Allow".
You will then be presented with your API token.
Copy this token into the trelloApiToken environment variable, and save your integration.
Once you have added your integration, you can update your API key and token at any time under the integration’s environment variables.
