When integrating a new application with your BetterCloud instance, the overall installation process is consistent. However, each integration is different, and may require varying levels and types of authentication. This article provides instructions for configuring and collecting all the information you need in order to add the DigiCert integration in BetterCloud.
BetterCloud requires the following authentication type when integrating with DigiCert:
API Token (DigiCert API Key)
You will also need to enter the following additional environment variable in order to successfully connect:
Please Note: The User taking the following steps to generate a DigiCert API Key must be an Administrator of the DigiCert CertCentral Account.
To get started collecting your DigiCert API Key, navigate to the DigiCert CertCentral Account here. Then, navigate to Automation > API Keys on the left-side navigation menu.
Select +Add API Key.
Give the API Key a description, and select your User (or any Administrator account). API Key Restrictions can be delegated here. Since we are managing users, we want None.
Copy the API Key that is generated. This key will be API Token value.
This API Token will be pasted in the API Token field (in the box to the right of X-DC-DEVKEY) in the DigiCert Integration.
This is your DigiCert CertCentral division name. When users are created, they are created in your specific division. We will save this value as an environment variable.
You can find your exact division name by going to Account on the left-hand menu > My Division.
The Name here will be the divisionName value in the DigiCert Integration. After you've collected both the API Token and the divisionName, you can install the DigiCert Integration.
Once you have successfully added the integration, your API Token and division name can be updated at any time from your integration’s configuration.
