When integrating a new application with your BetterCloud instance, the overall installation process is consistent. However, each integration is different, and may require varying levels and types of authentication. This article provides instructions for configuring and collecting all the information you need in order to add the Smartsheet integration in BetterCloud.
BetterCloud requires the following authentication type when integrating with Smartsheet:
- API Token
Only licensed Smartsheet users with System Administrator permissions can generate API tokens. In order to generate an API token in Smartsheet, please carry out the following steps:
Login to Smartsheet, select the Account dropdown on the top right corner of the page, and select "Personal Settings."
Click on "API Access."
Generate a new access token.
Name your token and click "OK."
On the next page you will be presented with your access token. Be sure to copy this token, as it will not be viewable after you have saved it.
Lastly, back in the BetterCloud Integration Center, please add the word 'Bearer' when pasting your Smartsheet API Token into the text box.
Once you have successfully added the integration, your API token can be updated at any time from the basic information section of the integration’s configuration.
