When integrating a new application with your BetterCloud instance, the overall installation process is consistent. However, each integration is different, and may require varying levels and types of authentication. This article provides instructions for configuring and collecting all the information you need in order to add the JumpCloud integration in BetterCloud.
BetterCloud requires the following authentication type when integrating with JumpCloud:
- API Token
*Please Note: In order to retrieve a valid API token, you must use a JumpCloud Administrator account. API keys in JumpCloud are unique to the logged in administrator. Actions taken in BetterCloud will be attributed to the user whose API key was used to authenticate.
In order to locate your API token in JumpCloud, login to your Admin Console and select your account from the top right corner of the page. Select API Settings from the dropdown.
Your API key will display in a pop-up.
*Please Note: If you click Generate New API Key, your previous key will be revoked. If you have previously configured a JumpCloud integration with an API key, any actions will fail until you update your integration with the new API key.
Once you have successfully added the integration, your API token can be updated from your integration’s basic information at any time.
