When integrating a new application with your BetterCloud instance, the overall installation process is consistent. However, each integration is different, and may require varying levels and types of authentication. This article provides instructions for configuring and collecting all the information you need in order to add the Dialpad integration in BetterCloud.
BetterCloud requires the following authentication type when integrating with Dialpad:
- dialpadApiKey
*Please Note: Only accounts on Dialpad’s Enterprise subscription have the ability to generate API keys and use the API.
Dialpad API Key
Your Dialpad API key gives BetterCloud permission to make calls and take action within your environment. You must use a Company Admin account in Dialpad to take the following steps to generate and retrieve an API key. Be sure to toggle into "My Company" settings -- API tokens generated under "Office Settings" will not work.
Under your Company Settings, select “Authentication.”
On this page you can see your existing API keys. Click “Add a key” to create a new one.
Name your key and define an expiration period - you may select any expiration time, but keep in mind that once the token expires, you will have to re-authenticate your Dialpad integration with a new key.
After your key is created, it will be added to the list. The “Click to show value” link reveals your key. Copy this key into the dialpadApiKey field in order to add the integration.
Once the integration has been added, your API key can be updated at any time.
